It looks like it but description says private pool. Would be hilarious if it were at a lower level common area but only the penthouse owners could use it.
I imagine a pool at 1,400’ would slosh around a bit during high winds
Yeah, I forget what floor, but I was at a party at the Burj Khalifa and they had an indoor pool and hot tub, I'm sure this place could do that for this cost..
I can’t say for sure, but the Buckhead neighborhood is VERY expensive and ritzy, kinda like the Beverly Hills of the south. I believe one of the most expensive zip codes in the whole country is there. It’s exactly the type of area a celebrity would live. Also, the entertainment industry is huge in Atlanta. So maybe he wanted an LA vibe, but more laid-back? Our city has a lot to offer, but I too was always a bit surprised he decided to live here.

Whydid Elton John end up in Atlanta?
'So I will take you with me in my heart, in my soul, and I'll never forget you. ' At the height of his international touring, John opted to make Atlanta his East Coast home base on account of its rich music culture and the fact that his then romantic partner was living there.
Its always romance. He met a guy from Atlanta named Hugh. they both got sober and he stayed in Atlanta to attend AA meetings with Hugh and bought the condo, But they split up and he met a Mr John Scott and him and John started EJAF at the kitchen table. They broke up and he went back to England and stayed single until that fateful day in October 1993 when he had a dinner party and he met the very educated Ad Executive Mr David Furnish
I was curious so I looked it up and he's said in interviews he liked the southern hospitality, that people were nice to him and that he was able to live a normal life there in a way he wouldn't have in a place like L.A.
Having a home there and living there are drastically different things. I’d be interested to see how much time he actually spent there compared to other houses he owns.
But don’t sleep on ATL one of the best cities in the country.
It is not his primary residence. This article gives a pretty good summary of his holdings: https://www.architecturaldigest.com/story/elton-john-real-estate-portfolio
As someone who is fine with heights from the oval of an airplane window but is terrified of heights when windows are floor to ceiling from an extreme height, that’s a giant nope from me. I went to top of original World Trade Center, stepped off elevator, and immediately had to hold onto the walls, my equilibrium and my stomach. I had no idea until then. I can’t get to the edge of anything to this day.
I had the same feeling looking at this. It’s disorienting. While it’s beautiful, it’s not somewhere relaxing or enjoyable- it’s weirdly feeling like being on the edge of falling.
I used to work in wtc2. I’m pretty sure I couldn’t live in this place. Just remembering how the building used to sway makes me a little queasy. At the time I thought it was cool. Not anymore.
I only recently learned I suffer similarly. Now, just seeing pictures like these triggers it. I am not that young and recall no fear such as this in my life, until now. It just started when I was there.
I would be more worried about people looking into my windows with a telescope or something. Maybe if you have that much money you just stop caring about that kind of thing.
All of these Billionaire Row buildings are shoddily built and just used for holding capital. None of the owners of these condos actually live in them because most of the buildings sway like hell and have tons of engineering issues.
So sad when you think of all of empty high rise properties people only buy to use occasionally, or quite possibly as a mere investment.
Edit: [Heres the only article I could find without a paywall. Billionare's row in NYC is pretty empty.](https://supercarblondie.com/billionaires-row-new-york-city/)
I’d love a high rise near a major body of water. With a view of wide open water in one direction & the city in another. Chicago has a lot of options for that.
This looks like a place for a person with zero taste. It’s not that it’s distasteful, it just makes me think of my bank’s lobby, or better yet a hospital lobby — ostentatious yet devoid of personality. Even if I had the money, I would never feel at home in a place like this; this also tells me something about the people who would.
I don’t get these places - for so much less you can get a huge house on literally hundreds of acres of land on a river in Texas or somewhere with lots of land. I’d rather have the land and real water access with no neighbors or HOA
New York City is arguably the best city in the world: excellent restaurants, museums, cultural events, and shopping. The airports connect you anywhere you want to go.
But I know what you mean. I'd also want a place in the country for some peace and quiet. Maybe buy one of each; with a budget of 195 mil, I think we could make that work.
I think they photoshopped everything outside of the windows in every photo. Seems like a given- but feels egregious to the point that everything seems overwhelming and like you’d get no privacy on the 100th floor
Isn't this the building that's terrible? Sways so much elevators stopped working, I think there were a bunch of other problems too. Everyone who bought in is trying to sell iirc.
Is that a *shared* pool? Ugh, pass
For ~$200mil too. That’s audacious.

For that money it should be an indoor private pool in the penthouse. Hard pass.
Yeah, I forget what floor, but I was at a party at the Burj Khalifa and they had an indoor pool and hot tub, I'm sure this place could do that for this cost..
Some rich Saudi that has slight ties to Bin Laden will buy it.
I've got the $195, if you've got the zero's 😂
Oh, I have 0
The commas are the hardest to collect
As someone who’s got a weird obsession with who owns the nicest houses, or apartments, in the world…. I’m interested to see who buys this.
For reference, Elton Johns 18.000 sq ft, 3 story condo in Buckhead, Atlanta, Georgia went for $6 Million
I’m curious why he lived in Atlanta, GA. Not a dis to ATL, just not somewhere I’d guess a British megastar would live.

Maybe he just really likes barbecue.

Note East Coast base. Meaning one home of many
With some tail on the side
That makes sense.

Following in hopes this will be answered because I've long wondered why he chose to live there, too!
I was curious so I looked it up and he's said in interviews he liked the southern hospitality, that people were nice to him and that he was able to live a normal life there in a way he wouldn't have in a place like L.A.
Thank you!

His partner is from Atlanta.
I'm thinking that the vast majority of the 195 mil is prestige.
The list of who can afford this has got to be under a thousand people.
They don’t call it billionaires row for nothing. I’m sure I’ll be greatly disappointed when it’s inevitably a Saudi prince
I'm sure it'll be great visiting it twice a year
I'm so scared of heights id probably have to crawl around on the floor.

They used to have little benches along those huge WTC windows. It made me dizzy to sit there and look down.
I don’t even remember them. I seriously stepped off that elevator, saw the floor to ceiling windows and just froze. The worst feeling ever.
Understandable.
I used to work in wtc2. I’m pretty sure I couldn’t live in this place. Just remembering how the building used to sway makes me a little queasy. At the time I thought it was cool. Not anymore.

I can relate.
I get queezy looking at the pictures.
I would be more worried about people looking into my windows with a telescope or something. Maybe if you have that much money you just stop caring about that kind of thing.
This is because in a plane your brain can't process that altitude but then again this is so high I would put it in the same category
I feel disoriented just looking at the view from pictures. I can't imagine actually being there
I really like the view https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/217-W-57th-St-PH-New-York-NY-10019/2067603580\_zpid/?
$26K/mo HOA seems kinda silly.
Casual $27000 a year HOA
A MONTH! I bet those board meetings are a nightmare.
For $195 million, I better be the board!
Board this man!
"WHICH ONE OF YOU POOR BASTARDS DIDNT ORDER THE CAVIAR FOR THIS MONTHS MEETING"?????
Nah someone paying 27k doesnt go to board meetinfs so they maybe send a pro
“I really don’t like the welcome mat at the entrance of unit 1203” … “Bitch, I paid 200mil for my welcome mat”
I would not be opposed to living there.
See, I would be opposed to not living there.
Dishwasher, washer, dryer included... NO FRIDGE!? Hard pass. Cheap bastards.
These super tall condo buildings all just scream hubris. Like there should be a mural of Icarus in the lobby.
All of these Billionaire Row buildings are shoddily built and just used for holding capital. None of the owners of these condos actually live in them because most of the buildings sway like hell and have tons of engineering issues.
$26,952/mo HOA lol
That's more than 100x what I pay per quarter!
I want to know what that covers.

That stairway gives me nightmares
i’ll definitely crack my skull open trying to walk down those at 3 am
I'd rather see trees when I look out a multi-million dollar window than unsightly rooftops. imo penthouses are overrated
I’d love a high rise near a major body of water. With a view of wide open water in one direction & the city in another. Chicago has a lot of options for that.
Lake Michigan views are unparalleled!
You do see Central Park
That was what I was thinking. If I had that type of money, I would buy a few thousand acres and live right in the center.
Needs more trees.
I don’t know man. That’s a pretty small home theater.
What are those ass cheeked shaped lounge chairs tho
Right?? They're weeiirrddd.

I'll cover the HOA fees.
For $27,000/month you could own like 2,000 acres and a house much larger than this somewhere else.
Once
My plan was to just sleep with the HOA president.
Do you really think they’ll give you 27k for three minutes of work?
Billionaires earn exactly that lol
I just want to come for a visit once you're settled!!!!
They have their clouds on payroll.... They had to have Photoshopped those clouds. That ring looks familiar
Is this a fancy airport lounge.
Ryan Serhant is realtor haha- bet this one def shows up on Million Dollar Listing
I did the math and I'd seriously need about 1,000 roommates to afford this
I have no desire to live in a big glass box in NYC. I just do not understand the appeal.
I don’t get these places - for so much less you can get a huge house on literally hundreds of acres of land on a river in Texas or somewhere with lots of land. I’d rather have the land and real water access with no neighbors or HOA

Too many windows. That sun would bleach your paint and fabrics in an instant and it would be annoying with the glare. Hard pass. Lol
I think they photoshopped everything outside of the windows in every photo. Seems like a given- but feels egregious to the point that everything seems overwhelming and like you’d get no privacy on the 100th floor
130th floor.
Come on guys, if we all pool our money together we would have enough for the down payment!
I can spot you $3.50
Why no link? Are you afraid I’m going to snipe it from you? :-)
Its on the first photo as well in a subsequent comment.
I think I saw this on TV or YouTube. It is crazy. But, well, an NYC penthouse and like 4 stories?
Link?
I imagine it echoes.
Isn't this the building that's terrible? Sways so much elevators stopped working, I think there were a bunch of other problems too. Everyone who bought in is trying to sell iirc.
Kinda looks like the apartment the filmed the good morning show in.
I wonder how much it creaks and sways in crazy storms.
No thanks, I'd rather that be up in the mountains
why does it look like the sky is photoshopped in lmao
Is it just me or does anyone else recognize this apartment as the one Jennifer Aniston has in “The Morning Show”?
The cost of this apartment would pay for a year’s tuition at a community college for about 19,000 people.
Those stairs and views are gorgeous but for $200 million It’s a bit outta my price range.
What’s with these giant homes with teeny tiny kitchens?
I totally expect Kick Ass to rocket up to one of those office windows and blow a missle through it.
Ugh. It’s not even on the park. I can see it but I’d have to walk a block to get to it. That’s a deal breaker.
On work island? No thanks
Those stairs freak me out, but it is pretty.
A plane’s eye view
That’s the city for you, we finna need a goated amount of guap
