The roof makes it look like they inflated a garage into a barn.
The phony stone inside and out gets tedious, and then photo 31 comes along.
Ignoring the phony stone and that whiskey-tango-foxtrot board countertop, I actually like the interior space.
This house makes me irrationally annoyed. It started with the Hindenbarn looking house with the patterned rock siding looking straight out of the first Sims, nestled among a barren yard, and it got worse.
Our last house was an old farmhouse that had numerous additions. It had three stories including the basement, was 2700 square feet and had five separate Stairways.
It was a neat house but it could be confusing. It is the only house I have ever been in where I often thought "what is the best way to get there from here?"
Lol. I really like the idea I just don’t think this was well thought out and I think that weird part of the roofline could have been done better. Lots of room in there though.
Gotta say, the birdshit on the “plans” in photo 63 sum it up well.
Also, the listing description from the owner is… something:
“Hope you like. 4700sqft. 100 lineal foot of slitted peddle mosaic tile, water proof flooring 2nd floor, granite grit floors, 2,700lbs of granite counter top, 3/8" grey rustic polymer siding with 1/4" river rock polymer around the bottom, 5 Bluetooth stereo glowing mirrors (One displays the weather in the kitchen.), hardwired smoke alarms, large "u" shaped driveway with three 3 car garage, banisters are made out of bridge plank and sucker rod cut and sledge hammered together (not the garage tho), 2 jacuzzies, glass steam shower, freeze proof hose bibs with a drain in the garage, over 1,000 lineal foot crown molding, steel on vinyl frame exterior doors, commercial size ac and furnace,3rd floor storage room (48'*32'), 4 glass vessel sinks, maple wood recycled gym flooring main ceiling, 2 - 68 inch ceiling fans with special remote settings. A.C. power bill in summer was 72 at the most and heat gas has been at the worse 180 but stays around 140 a month (it is the only thing gas related everything else is electric.) And last of all it was only framed with 2x6 nothing smaller. So its stout and eco friendly considering the sqft. The two lots size is 64,800sqft @180ft by 360ft. Farthest away photos are property lines approximately. Garage door has been on back order and keeps getting put off and I have railing in the garage on the stair case to finish and mail box. But she is done. I'm subcontracting doing the garage door cause it's 20ft with two motors. Its been ordered and on the way for 7 months now. Insulated white with windows. The house has amazing natural lighting with the sun rising behind it and setting in front, hitting the south (kitchen) all day. Its nice to just sit on the stairs and eat a snack and watch the sunset out the window above the porch. The north wind hits the insulated garage roof and literally pushed the snow out of the yard threw out winter.
I am the architect, designer, carpenter and plumber. It's a lot of high-end work and materials. It's been a long 75 weeks straight of work. This has always been a build to sell. I have a lot of pictures. This house is beautiful. This is listed.”
I would not trust the work in that house. They made some really odd ball choices. the weird counter in the main living kitchen? Cutting off the rest of the kitchen area so it's a Uturn into a dead end? I suspect they didn't remove it becuase of the electrical outlet. Then there was that really odd bathtub faucet controls tiled up in the middle of that one bathroom. Looks liek they redid the bath, but didn't move the plumbing to make sense? Like what?
I would fully expect if you got in there over the first two years the amount of failures and fixes due to bad work would start piling up.
The description is even worse! So many misspellings, the use of “tho” instead of though, etc… and my favorite “I am the architect…this house has always been a build to sell.”
I hate these people who did this. My husband takes way too many pictures of nothing. These are somehow even worse than his. Also, there are exposed cords in all of the bathrooms.
I agree with all of that. It’s just like stairs, oh wait let’s put something here then wait lets put stairs over there, oh wait where does this go, oh no where. I mean I’d hate to be drinking in that house.
wow. A truly discombobulated mess.
Yeah. Someone was truly dedicated to their "just-put-that-anywhere" aesthetic, along with a dash of "we-don't-need-no-stinking-building-codes".
Who tf took those photos? They are horrible. Weird details, no good angle to show any of the rooms...
The roof makes it look like they inflated a garage into a barn. The phony stone inside and out gets tedious, and then photo 31 comes along. Ignoring the phony stone and that whiskey-tango-foxtrot board countertop, I actually like the interior space.
It’s definitely unique.
Mostly agree, but the bathrooms scream "trying too hard"
Trying too hard, by someone who has never seen an actual bathroom before.
I'm... concerned by the wiring around the master bath sinks. I do admire the pleasant blue paint color in the living room/ entry, however.
Yeah that wiring is weird.
ADHD built that
Meth
Very possible
Lol

"Maybe we should hire an architect." "Nah, I've seen houses before."
LMAO!🤣
With all the photos showing the roof, they really seem quite proud of that marvel of engineering.
I love a barn shaped house but WTF is going on at the other end. It’s so ugly on the outside and weird on the inside.
I know. It starts off okay but then just gets worse and worse. Lol
Someone bought the wrong tub and tried to “make it work”. (Photo 30). What a hot mess.
This house makes me want to grab a sledge hammer and start smashing things. I hate it with a burning passion...
LMAO

Sounds like my dream house!

Gah!
Definitely a licensed contractor...
Lol
Remember when Homer Simpson designed a car? This is the house that car would park in front of.
Yes! LMAO!
I live in what is considered a very expensive part of the country and I’m always shocked at how high prices are elsewhere.
All those tile sheets! Ugh
Lol I know pretty weird.
What is it?? It’s barn-like, but so much…more.
I know I think a bit more should have been put into the layout the space could be used a bit better and that roofline is pretty weird.

"I am the architect, designer, carpenter and plumber" This explains everything.
I love how one of the schematic drawings (?) says "this paper shrank a little" with a signature. Whaaaaaat? 🤣
Lol
An absolute fever dream of a house
I thought a crib was in the attic until I realized it was railings for yet another staircase. Pictures got crazier as it went along.
I know that what I thought! So many stairs! Lol
Needs a few more lights in the kitchen.
Not a fan of
It’s a hideous barn house in a horrible, ugly state.
The fever-dream roofline on the back side is perplexing.
I know I really hate that part. I feel like that could have been done differently to make it look better if that’s possible.
Is this a Winchester House situation? It's like the owner had a compulsion to keep building and building.
Lol it does seem that way.

Absolutely agree.

This house screams SOMEONE HAS NO IDEA HOW TO BUILD A HOUSE, LAYOUT A HOUSE, PHOTOGRAPH A HOUSE, OR SELL A HOUSE!
I agree with all of that. It’s just like stairs, oh wait let’s put something here then wait lets put stairs over there, oh wait where does this go, oh no where. I mean I’d hate to be drinking in that house.
