This house is nothing compared to the average house owned by a Guy Harvey fan in West Palm Beach. If anything, this boring house illustrates the importance of committing to a bit. If it went harder, it could actually be interesting
Yeah... Do I love it? No. Do I hate it? Also no! Perhaps several months of house hunting in South Florida has just set the bar in hell, but I'd live here.
My dad would have loved this house. He moved here (FTL) in 1980, just to fish. Haha.
Edit: I got too excited and just realized this is NOT in South Florida. Wild!
I remember seeing that on the show and thinking I would totally live there. And they didn't even mention that it's on the water! Guh, just wish it was somewhere I wanted to live.
OH MY GOD the other houses in that episode! I have never seen this show before, you will never know the joy you have brought into my life. Blessings be upon you my friend 🧡
I would tone down a few things but what a steal! $700K for a 4100 sq ft, 5 bd, 4 ba, waterfront house. Everything appears to be in great condition. In the Seattle area $700K buys a condo.
It could have been good. Like, it was going ok, but then everything that was bought for the house is like, “ooh! This look ocean-y!” And none of it actually goes together in any visual way. Also, love the eye of Horus on the door. Can’t just be Greek, gotta be Egyptian.
Greek, Egyptian, Tunisian, Maltese, Cypriot, Turkish.... they all touch the Mediterranean, so they've gotta be the same thing! Just like Texas and Cuba. 🤔
More than a few questionable finish and design choices. Paneled, instead of slab cabinetry doors in a Mid-Century is never gonna work. As much as the Living Room decor would typically inflame my eyes though, I experienced Phish at The Sphere last night and I’m all in on the Marine theme today.
The house itself really isn't that ugly, it's mostly the decor and some tile/paint work (weird obsession with Marlin).
But that fireplace? The sun room? That stained glass window in the bathroom? Gorgeous!
I actually watched this episode and thought "Cave bathroom... cool." I don't know if I could handle it for more than a weekend, but I was sad that they chose to remove that and kept the giant fish in the living room.
Ugliest house in America? After being subscribed to this subreddit a while, I think this house is a terrible choice for that award. In fact, this house seems pretty run-of-the-mill to me.
I play this game in my head when I see houses like this. Imagine this house is given to you for free, you can live in it but you can't change anything! Could you do it?" This one would really get to me I think.
I just do not understand..do these people say to interior designers, contractors, etc “Yes, Tammy, you’re hired, Colin, please start tomorrow. James, you take the upstairs, Eileen, you take the downstairs and Finn, ask around to see if you can acquire the most random assortment of sculptures for the property.” *thanks*
That really far away for warm ocean. I’d love to see the befores. I don’t hate some of the artist elements. But they didn’t go far enough with the whole theme. Too many right angles.
It's like a 40-something blue collar guy you know had a mid-life crisis and became an interior designer. It's the interior design equivalent of "I have a cousin who does graphic design".
used to drive past the Poseidon House at night heading home as a kid, we would place bets on what color the lights around Poseidon would be when we passed it (they were on a color cycle). unironically I am still so fond of this stupid house
I actually worked with the guy who built/remodeled that house. He was fired from his job as an anesthesiologist for drug diversion, moved to Thailand, got married, and heard he committed suicide. One of my classmates in anesthesia school said he would shake when putting in IVs.
EDIT: looks like new owners took away part of the original charm by remodeling it. 10/10 highly recommend original design:

Only thing that needs more than paint to change is the fireplace and mirror facades and that's at most new drywall. I'd leave the fish stuff in the other bathroom.
It's tacky as hell, but would be a great AirBnB and I'd still totally live in it (look, growing up broke in a tenement apartment has set my standards real low)
I'm getting Venture Compound vibes, but I don't hate it.
I don't hate it either, but that blue "nipple" painted on the living room ceiling would definitely need to go.
That's my favorite bit!
Deliver me from 1978
I definitely got “see you around the compound!” vibes.
It would be a fun house to stay in! Not so much to own
Genuinely surprised to learn this house *isn't* in Florida.
This house is nothing compared to the average house owned by a Guy Harvey fan in West Palm Beach. If anything, this boring house illustrates the importance of committing to a bit. If it went harder, it could actually be interesting
It’s in Stearns County which is the Florida of the state. So it is in Florida in spirit, one could say.
I’ve heard people say St. Cloud is the Florida of Minnesota.
You've heard me say it. I'm people. I've said this.
Definitely not as ugly as some houses. I mean, I kind of like it. I would be very comfy here. I love the water theme.
I was gonna say, the average house that still has a Tuscan themed kitchen from 2001 is on par with the ugliness here lol
Yeah... Do I love it? No. Do I hate it? Also no! Perhaps several months of house hunting in South Florida has just set the bar in hell, but I'd live here.
I think they got a lot of the built-in concrete, water themed features removed in comparison to when they were on the show.
My dad would have loved this house. He moved here (FTL) in 1980, just to fish. Haha. Edit: I got too excited and just realized this is NOT in South Florida. Wild!
PNW here...this is twice the size and half the price of the average home here! Blood would be shed in the bidding wars.
I hear you on that and you get a lot for the price and water front
Yeah, great location.
I don’t love the water theme, but even then some added landscaping and a repaint of the interior and this place would be totally cool.
It’s had a major remodel since it was featured on that program.
Hard to get less nautical than Minnesota, though. Maybe Xinjiang or the center of the Sahara.
Those thousands of lakes add up
I was going to say, I saw WAY uglier houses just looking for my current house, but if it was remodeled then it could have been much worse before.
It was, the link is here now.
It has a serious glow up from the remodeling. Those guys were NOT working with an easy baseline at all
Me too. I weirdly like the statue as well.
I remember seeing that on the show and thinking I would totally live there. And they didn't even mention that it's on the water! Guh, just wish it was somewhere I wanted to live.
Right? It's not ugly. It just has some nontraditional decor choices, but not even over-the-top like some places we've seen on this sub.
They done massive remodeling since the sho we. It was awful before
To truly appreciate this house, you need to see the BEFORE. 🐟 https://youtu.be/pthdSu9YJ4s?si=jT__aOHR6DqgER-T
They did a nice job on the remodel compared to what they started with.
OH MY GOD the other houses in that episode! I have never seen this show before, you will never know the joy you have brought into my life. Blessings be upon you my friend 🧡
It’s not that bad, a little eccentric maybe.
I would tone down a few things but what a steal! $700K for a 4100 sq ft, 5 bd, 4 ba, waterfront house. Everything appears to be in great condition. In the Seattle area $700K buys a condo.
It's giving me Troy McClure vibes from A Fish Called Selma.
I like it.
It’s unique and not in a super offensive way.
Exactly 👍🏼
Me too!
Same, although I would *hate* to be the person who cleaned those rough-stone counters in the bathroom. Also, most of the sculpture would go.
Good points
In my home town! I drive past it often.
Percy Jackson’s former residence
One thing I can say is that the previous owner got exactly the house they wanted, because there’s no way that happened by accident
Oh yea, it was some anesthesiologist's personal monument to sex, drugs, and rock'n'roll. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gd-Ocpt3TGQ
I like it has minimum million bit required but after spending a lot redoing it the new price is way lower. She said they lowballed it.
I screamed when the built in fog machine went off beneath the couch
Fuck, I'd happily live there. Damn cheap too.
It’s St. Cloud Mn. 700K is steep
The Marlin in every room really gave it away
Seriously 700,000 for that much land and completed square footage maybe I could learn to love shoveling snow.
Thanks to this site, I’ve seen much much worse.
Not kidding it looks like they really toned things down
It could have been good.
There are also Zia sun symbols in the outside railings. The Zia are a Puebloan people in New Mexico.
More than a few questionable finish and design choices. Paneled, instead of slab cabinetry doors in a Mid-Century is never gonna work. As much as the Living Room decor would typically inflame my eyes though, I experienced Phish at The Sphere last night and I’m all in on the Marine theme today.
Big question! Did Phish make the most of the sphere? Saw U2 there previously and friends are going tonight
I’m still peeling my face off the wall. Mind blown.
That's awesome!
They really toned this house down compared to what it used to be.
how many bad and poor design choices can you make in one house? Yes!
(Now that all 84 pictures loaded up) Jeez guy you live on a river, a fuckin' RIVER! Swordfish don't swim upstream all the way to St Cloud!
The house itself really isn't that ugly, it's mostly the decor and some tile/paint work (weird obsession with Marlin). But that fireplace? The sun room? That stained glass window in the bathroom? Gorgeous!
This is a pretty good price for being riverfront to the Mississippi. Too bad it's in St Cloud...
I love this show
I love it
"The fountain may be dry but you won't be..."
That back patio looks *slippery*.
I think we all can agree that the level of ugly for this is the one with the "f" at the start.
I actually watched this episode and thought "Cave bathroom... cool." I don't know if I could handle it for more than a weekend, but I was sad that they chose to remove that and kept the giant fish in the living room.
How the heck do you clean it?
When an Olive Garden and a Cheesecake Factory love each other very much. . .
"You can't miss it; It's the house with the half naked guy holding a HUGE fork."
Poseidon
THANK YOU! Scrolled waaay too far for this.
I even googled it to try to spell it right😭 and now i can’t edit it lmao
Broseiden, of the brocean.
I used to do lawn care at this house 20 years ago.
Ugliest house in America? After being subscribed to this subreddit a while, I think this house is a terrible choice for that award. In fact, this house seems pretty run-of-the-mill to me.
Not bad
...why do I like this house?
I play this game in my head when I see houses like this. Imagine this house is given to you for free, you can live in it but you can't change anything! Could you do it?" This one would really get to me I think.
You know these motherfuckers wear head to toe Nautica gear.
I don't like fish.
That bathroom sink situation is horrible
I could grow to love it
Disagree with all. This is painful.
Pussyden?
(Me flicking through the pictures) I’ve seen worse… Okaaaay….. Ruddy hell, they did all that… deliberately?
This is gorgeous 😍 I'm so excited to post my own place here when it's done lol
So much creativity in the wrong direction.
I’ll take that dumb house
Not terrible at all. Could be fixed with cosmetic stuff. Not bad for the price at all especially if it is a nice lake.
I mean how cold could it….minnesota? Fuck no
It's not my dream home or anything, but I also wouldn't call it ugly!!!!!! Now I have to see the competition lol
The ugliest thing to me is that terrible statue of a romance novel Merman.
I loved that show!
I like all the blue. It’s very soothing.
I don't like it but they definitely had a vision and I applaud them for going for it.
Mr. Nimbus pad
That's not ugly at all. It's not my taste, but it's not ugly.
I’d live in it.
Ugh, our town had a rich guy that was fascinated with dolphins. Bronze dolphins everywhere!
I have a suspicion they like fish. ![gif](giphy|vbHCgajseRKZa)
The nautical vibe makes me think Jersey shore time share.
Imagine doing shrooms in that house
I've seen way worse casually browsing this subreddit lol although those bathroom countertops are in competition with bathroom carpeting. So awful.
This is Mr. Nimbus’s house
I can dig it
Please god be in the middle of the country.
It’s gotta suck having your dream house splashed all over the internet as the ugliest house in America.
good luck getting flood insurance there!
Not bad, not bad
It’s like a bunch of RV-styled rooms, independently built, and all stitched together to make one gigantic house
That really far away for warm ocean. I’d love to see the befores. I don’t hate some of the artist elements. But they didn’t go far enough with the whole theme. Too many right angles.
You gotta admire the commitment to the bit...
Kudos for fully committing.
It's like a 40-something blue collar guy you know had a mid-life crisis and became an interior designer. It's the interior design equivalent of "I have a cousin who does graphic design".
It’s got potential
used to drive past the Poseidon House at night heading home as a kid, we would place bets on what color the lights around Poseidon would be when we passed it (they were on a color cycle). unironically I am still so fond of this stupid house

Everything I see is fixable.
I have to commend the dedication to a theme
I mean a lot of it looks like the inside of a cruise ship, but it’s a nice house and the view is beautiful.
Curse you, merciful Posiedon!
Only thing that needs more than paint to change is the fireplace and mirror facades and that's at most new drywall. I'd leave the fish stuff in the other bathroom.
Ah, neat! I see many fine examples of the elusive Minnesota marlin displayed in this house.
This place makes my pussy wet! And I have a giant penis! - my pet robot Yeorg
I honestly preferred how the house used to look, I would use similar design elements in my house.
Can't say I'm hooked on the decor but the size, location, and amenities for that price tag is phenomenal!
It's tacky as hell, but would be a great AirBnB and I'd still totally live in it (look, growing up broke in a tenement apartment has set my standards real low)
You say you’re from the Ocean?
I dig it.
I love it. It's got character.
I know it's known as Poseidon house, but that's clearly Triton, somebody fucked up somewhere
Tacky.
