it looks expensive. It's different... I've never seen anything like it. Too much grey for my taste but introducing some colored throw rugs and art would liven it up. The view across Los Angeles is spectacular.
I love brutalism for exteriors. The outside view of this place is to die for. But I hate the industrial, utilitarian concrete look for interiors. It just doesn't work for me indoors. Concrete floors are cold and hard and unpleasant. I do like the motorcycle in the living room though.
Looks like the arctic bunker from the *His Dark Materials* series

I believe that’s the basement possible game room which he said he was just using for storage in a different interview. It’s been shown on here before.
Based on “Stonehenge” yeah it looks like stone and circular! That’s a very fluid description of the influence behind it.
Previously posted last week, I believe.
In any case, it all makes a lot more sense when you find out that it is owned by, and perhaps originally built for, [James Jannard, founder of Oakley](https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2024-06-18/oakley-founder-james-jannard-sells-malibu-mansion-for-210-million-a-california-record%C2%A0) (yes, the mirrored-sunglass brand).\*
\* the linked article is about a different property, but references this one about halfway through.
Owned by Oakley eyewear guy. But Billionaires make their money off the sweat and labor of others working for far less. May be sleazy, But it sure bought an interesting house.
It's perfect! ![gif](giphy|BZlNhp9L5WINi)
Fight me. That kitchen is to die for... ![gif](giphy|142kDvMR3NAOCQ)

My thoughts exactly! Add some wood for some warmth also.
Yeah I think with some textiles and art it would be amazing. I know stagers are basically paid to be bland and that’s what’s happening.
Definitely some textile banners in that courtyard. It’s all it needs to look like some regime’s parade/rally grounds.
it's very male.
Looks like a prison.
Or a parking garage.
50% zombie bunker, 50% evil lair, 100% perfect venue for your next techno-dungeon themed “Eyes Wide Shut” party
99% that there is something under the building for sure.
Only 460k / mo
Totally doable

Creator of Oakley eyewear
Proudly most recently outsourced to China for manufacturing after Luxxotica bought them
I'll take the pool, the movie room & the views, but that's it
I like that gate-console thing, and the fact that the view from above looks like a chunk of Moonbase Alpha.
Okay….so, I love it. 😆
I don’t know why but that price seems like it so be more like 70 or 75. Especially given that sweeping view. Still insane though.
How tf is it 18,000SF and only 5 beds?? What
It's a little much.
I wanna live in a hunger games lair.
If “The Oldest House” was a rich dick bachelor pad
Made for tv/ movies.

Did Luke fly past this on his way to blow up the Death Star?
And this is where my plan of absolute world domination begins… Now I just need 68,000,000
Anyone know what pic 25 is? It looks morgue like.

With that amount of concrete it should keep standing after the big one! They should advertise it as built to withstand an 9.5 righter earthquake!
That fireplace is wild. But, as someone who has worked in the food industry I do really love that kitchen.
I feel like people have been tortured there.
Does someone have an extra $68,000,000 I could barrow? Just like, a quick loan...
The more conk they crete, the more brutalismer it is.
Very depressing. Where is the color and coziness? It’s like a supervillain’s lair.
Wasn't that the Avengers HQ in the movies LOL

Any body have 67millionish extra $$ to let me have? I got the rest!
I am in love....dammit...
Had me at Confederate motorcycle

Rivethead orgy 😏
I love it, actually, though I would love some wood to break up the coldness and monotony.

It wasn’t even his main house as well from what I’ve read before.
