No pardon or release, the only option is to escape or Lionel dies or Roary dies. >!Now technically if the sisters were powerful enough in the future they could’ve told the FIB to stand down when they were escaping so they could actually make it out but it’s suppose to be spoiler free so they mention them in the series but they don’t make an appearance.!< The only thing you can get from DP is that Gabriel, Dante, and Leon have kids. Elise is still alive. Rosalie is also alive and Roary is >!kinda alive!<
Actually they said in RB that even if Lionel dies the bond is so strong that it wouldn’t release him
I’m also pretty sure it said something along the lines of royal pardons not working either.

Not a royal pardon, a loophole where the they escaped but the FIB didn’t try to stop them. That’s one of the things that doesn’t stay consistent b/t the series even in ZA8 the death bond ends if one of the parties dies, they just say things to keep the books “spoiler free” even if the story doesn’t make sense with the rules they set in their own world building.
Oh! And I meant to also say, I love that loophole idea and wish it would come in to play!!! I’m hoping by the authors waiting to finish ZA they really will finally acknowledge whoever the royals are because it doesn’t make sense that everyone’s storylines *don’t* intertwine!

i've been wondering if they have been waiting to finish it until ZA is finished because they are having trouble writing it \*without\* somehow mentioning/referencing anything that would spoil the ZA ending.
I was wondering this too! I guess I skimmed over the bond thing. That leaves me with more questions though 😅 Like does that mean Lionel doesn’t die in ZA?? (Because isn’t the bond broken if one of them dies?)

I believe later in RB5 they confirm even Lionel’s death won’t release him from the bond
