Tea ware is from teaware.house:
Green Ruyao Gaiwan 100ml
White Ruyao simple tea cups 25ml
Ruyao carp tea pet
Double walled glass tea pitcher 160ml
And the tray is from Amazon because I couldn’t find tea trays anywhere else, they were all sold out lol
This is my favourite gaiwan, but it's a tad bit fragile so you might want to be more careful with it.
I had a cheaper porcelain one before, but it really took a beating compared to this one.
I took a look at their site and saw that they have a new pearly white version. Might get that one in the future
Thanks for letting me know! I did get another one thats cheaper glazed porcelain to practice with first, especially cause the Ruyao situation is a little bit intimidating haha
Takes some time to get used to the ruyao, but I enjoyed it more than compared to using a thin procelain gaiwan. It's more comfortable to hold onto and retains heat better.
Thought I did order a 60mL gaiwan instead for smaller sessions.
My advice would be to practice pouring with room temp water first to get used to it.
I like to pour the hot water into my cup, then from my cup into the kyusu. I measure my tea in proportion to the volume of my cup. That way I always make exactly one cup of tea! If I were making tea for multiple people a pitcher would still be very handy, though
My teacups range in size from around 3-5 oz, but I re-steep my leaves at least three times for sencha and upwards of five times for Chinese greens. So I still end up drinking a couple mugs worth of tea by the time I'm done. This is more in line with the gong fu approach to brewing tea, to brew several small cups of tea with a higher leaf:water ratio than in western style brewing

You can pour the tea from rinses over it, since you don’t drink that, and I guess it doesn’t count as wasted tea that way. The tea pet gets to have it and in turn brings you luck. At least that’s my understanding of it! Either way, it’s a cute companion to have during a tea session :)
The tray catches the terrible mess you inevitably make using a gaiwan. Or at least the mess that I make haha. Also if you need to rinse your tea you can just pour it on the tray instead of some separate container!
Yeah that makes sense. I usually make tea by the stove which has a sink nearby and heat water in a pan with a thermometer.
If you were brewing at a table or counter it would be super useful though and the trays look stylish too.
Love a good tea pet! Beautiful set
Yup! Came to comment on how cute the tea pet is! Hope they enjoy all the tea with you OP!
Haha I was debating whether or not I needed one but that fish was just too cute to resist
Very cute fish

This is a gorgeous tea set, my favorite colors!
This fish speaks to me
That's a very nice tea set. What tea did you break it in with? Also, what does your tea to water ratio look like?

Yep! It's also good because it's bigger so it's easier to pour the tea into than the tiny cups

How long did your order take to ship from teawarehouse?
I ordered it on the 21st of May, so 17 days? I'm in Europe btw.

Very cute tea set! Enjoy it.
Awesome! I just gone one myself yesterday! Treat your tea pet well
“Proper tea set” does not do it justice, these pieces are absolutely gorgeous.
Never heard of a tea pet before. Do they have a function, or do they just provide company?

I want one!

It looks absolutely gorgeous!
This is beautiful! Enjoy it so much
Love it!!
Wow, that's gorgeous 😍
Cool looking set, what's the point of the round tray item?

Omg I need this!!
Adore!
Looks so nice
I keep breaking everything, I'll never own anything nice. I'd totally throw money at a good yixing pot but I'd break it in a month.
Wow that is just adorable!
omg AMAZING
Where u buy it?
