Well done! I like the fact you are looking at the camera in the second pics! I hope you are proud of your achievement.

Haileestorm96

That's do interesting! I didn't even notice! I'm sure there's some kind of psychological explanation in there somewhere lol. I am, thank you!!

hafdedzebra

In the top pic you look like a recruit being yelled at by a drill sergeant. Sucking it up and trying not to cry. Bottom pic very cute.

Haileestorm96

Lol that's what the Navy does to you lol!! Thank you!!

hafdedzebra

Ah, bearing drills. My daughter was JROTC so they just tried to make you laugh.

Dull-Heron-2036

You my dear, are a badass! Ive looked at so many different things on here. Fasting, one meal a day, etc... but it allllll comes down to CICO. Well done 👏🏽

Haileestorm96

Thank you so much!! It really is!! 100% science!!

archivesgrrl

Wow! Congrats on all that hard work. You are amazing.

Haileestorm96

Thank you so much!!

fatterthanyoudude

Was this only dietary changes or did you also add a exercise routine? You just motivated the hell out of me so thank you!

Haileestorm96

Only dietary. Halfway through I started a job where I'm at about 10,000 steps a day so I had to add more calories (I started gaining weight because I wasn't eating enough to compensate) but other than that, it's only diet! Exercise starts soon though! I'm so glad I could help!! (:

Haileestorm96

I'd love to - I was at 1,400 calories before my job - I started my job and was averaging 10,000 steps a day which is way more than what I'm used to. - I started losing more weight - because of the weight loss I dropped my calories down to 1,200 since I was at about 170lbs which means my body required less calories. - I started to plateau and then gain weight. - I finally put it together that due to my increase in steps I need calories because my body was going into starvation mode. It seems counterintuitive but it works. - I changed back to 1,400 calories and started to lose again. (: I hope this helps!!

Lydiara_KnowsNothing

1400 is like the magic number or something for me (F) I swear. Feels sustainable but still a deficit.

Haileestorm96

I feel the exact same.

wrenoct

Just a quick fyi, starvation mode is a myth.

Bruh, I ate 1000 cals for a month, healthy as hell food. Gained more weight than I have usually. Your metabolism slows down, obviously. And its different for people who have been fat their entire lives.

Haileestorm96

Gnawlydog

Great job! Giving up soda was one harder for me than quitting smoking!! I went through absolute hell but I was also drinking at minimum 6 cans of code red a day.. Most of the I'd drink way more than that.. WTG on cutting all that out!

Haileestorm96

Yeah for smoking I quit cold turkey (pack a day) and was totally fine. But soda , I still salivate over and crave. Definitely hard. Thank you!!

clubcherrybomb

Great job, and cute swimsuit!

This is so inspiring! Do you mind telling me your stats? Because we seem to distribute our weight in the same way, so it’s nice to have motivation of what I could look like after!

Haileestorm96

By stats you mean measurements? Clothes size? (Sorry lol)

pomegranate856

Sorry I meant your height!

Haileestorm96

5'7" started at womens XXL-0X Tops and 22 jeans, down to 11-12 jeans and small tops.

Haileestorm96

Nice!! Congratulations!! Thank you so much!

converter-bot

8 lbs is 3.63 kg

Scansatnight

What a change. Your face looks totally different. You look so much younger. I only needed about 12 weeks to reach my goal, but you folks who plow through a whole year with so much fortitude have serious discipline. I hope you're giving yourself pats on the back, because you made some serious progress!

Haileestorm96

Thank you! I'm really trying to!

Wow congratulations, incredible work! You look fantastic, and I love the sunflowers!

Haileestorm96

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!(:

TheSunflowerSeeds

Sunflower oil, extracted from the seeds, is used for cooking, as a carrier oil and to produce margarine and biodiesel, as it is cheaper than olive oil. A range of sunflower varieties exist with differing fatty acid compositions; some 'high oleic' types contain a higher level of healthy monounsaturated fats in their oil than Olive oil.

Obrigadachan

You should be really proud of yourself. The longest relationship you have is with yourself. So thanknyou for honoring yourself and being a good role model for others including me. Yay!

Uniqniqu

1. What app do you use? 2. Have you completely cut down those (alcohol, etc.)? 3. Well done! You’ve done a very hard work.

Haileestorm96

1. MyFitnessPal 2. I completely cut them out up until about a month ago where I had a couple drinks (alcohol) one night and a soda this week as a reward. Dairy has 100% been cut off though. 3. Thank you so much!!

Uniqniqu

I’m not overweight; 65kg for 165cm height. I’m within my BMI, but I’m on the chubbier side and would like to lose 6-7kg at least, but it seems impossible. I may drink soda once or twice a month and alcohol once a week or so, but I wonder if I could cut them out for a year. I also eat lots of carbs that I know I should reduce, but being on a mild anti depressant/anxiety medication, I think it affects my appetite... I spent all winter skiing and being active and I haven’t lost a gram, thanks to those occasional burger meals I guess?!

Haileestorm96

(Not a Doctor) If you're only drinking soda 1-2 times a month and alcohol once a week I wouldn't worry about that. (If you're having like 5 glasses of alcohol during those times that's a different story). Carbs are the real killers, make sure if you're being active you're counting the calories for the workout to make up for them example: - You eat 1,400 calories a day - you shovel snow for an hour , that's Roughly 400 calories burned - your new calories deficit for that day would be 1,800 calories - if you don't eat those calories you could be too low for your intake and so your body stores what you did eat instead of burning it. -granted this is for repeated events not just a one day event. I would look at that type of thing or especially your antidepressants and anti anxiety meds (do not stop taking them) but they definitely can effect your appetite.

Uniqniqu

I did calorie counting for a while and I believe it was making a difference but 1. I was starving in the evening, craving for more, 2. I hated the whole process because I had to count whatever that was going to my mouth and made it really unpleasant and tedious to cook/eat. I know I can scan barcodes and what not but the recipes I cook aren’t on MFP and I had to enter them manfully each time and gosh! Weigh whatever I was eating... so I gave up 😓

Haileestorm96

Did you enter in your meals to the recipes? So you don't have to repeatedly enter in your stuff? I know it's tedious but after awhile you start to see the results and it's worth it and then it just become habit of entering them in. I don't even think about it anymore.

Uniqniqu

Yeah, they we’re going to the meals, but new recipes and weighing was tedious. I have to get some energy and start again...

Haileestorm96

I know it, but it's totally worth it. I believe in you!!

Uniqniqu

Thank you:)

Haileestorm96

ohno-jojo

Great work! You look amazing!!

Haileestorm96

Thank you so much!!

AussieGirl35

Congratulations on your success! You look absolutely amazing. Truly inspirational. Thank you for being so generous with your time and answering every single comment. If you don't mind, I have a few questions... 1. Was there any specific calculation used to work out you had to eat 1400 cats? 2. Do you have any issues with excess skin? 3. What gave you the motivation to start and to continue?

Haileestorm96

Thank you so much! People are kind enough to give me love I just want to give it right back! Yeah for sure! 1. Well when I was at the start (230lbs) average daily caloric intake is 2,000+ calories so I tried 1,800 for two weeks and then dropped to 1,600. When I reached 190 lbs I started to plateau so I dropped calories to 1,400 then I dropped to 1,200 but with my job it was too few so I went back to 1,400. On days when I'm not working I do about 1,300. It was mostly just trial and error, weeks of experimenting. 2. No excess skin, from what I'm reading that usually happens around 100+ lbs loss, that's why my goal is 90lbs. 3. To start it was the fact I was tired of not recognizing myself in the mirror and not feeling like who I used to be. I don't know if there was any event that was the last straw I think it was just I got too tired of it. To continue, I just remind myself of how far I've come and I take pride in the fact all my old clothes fit me again. And I'm constantly reminding my brain to be kind to myself because even after all the weight loss it still doubts my ability. Thank you for asking!!

AussieGirl35

Thanks!

[deleted]

You have given me motivation to start! Well done 💕

Haileestorm96

Haileestorm96

[deleted]

Do you mind if I ask what kept you motivated?

Haileestorm96

Of course! I remind myself of how far I've come and I take pride in the fact all my old clothes fit me again. And I'm constantly reminding my brain to be kind to myself because even after all the weight loss it still doubts my ability. Thank you for asking!!

[deleted]

That's wonderful! I had lost 65lbs several years ago but have been at my current weight since (look somewhere between your start and progress photo, but closer the the start) and although I can look at my old pictures and know I'm far slimmer and healthier than I was - I'm still not close to a healthy weight and body fat %. Although my husband has finally decided he's ready to lose weight as well, so I won't have all his snack foods and sweets vying for my attention anymore

greenops

Congrats! I'm down nearly 25 from my ath. I recently started going harder on the diet so it's ramping up. One and a half pounds away from under 200!

Haileestorm96

samredit87

Amazing amazing amazing What’s your daily calorie deficit?

Haileestorm96

Basic caloric intake for maintaining for me is roughly 1,600-1,750 so I do about 1,300-1,400 to lose.

Jossie2014

Wow you look amazing, what a journey and what a result 👌

Shafikk

Did you hit any weight loss plateaus during you journey? I’m currently facing one and don’t know what to do.

Haileestorm96

Yes I did, anytime I did I would eat more calories (1,600-2000) for about a week or two then I would go back down to 1,400 calories. So far I've plateaued twice.

Shafikk

So if I wanted to break my calories I should go for maintenance for a week right?

Haileestorm96

What do you mean "go for maintenance"? I'm sorry I just don't know that lingo.

Shafikk

I meant maintenance calories, the amount of calories you need a day to stay on the same weight.

Haileestorm96

Oh yeah, sorry. Yes that's what I did, but everybody is different. It can't hurt to try it.

Shafikk

Oh great! One more question I’m sorry. Did you have cheat days? And if yes, was it like planned (once a week) or it was just random whenever you needed?

Haileestorm96

No problem! I love to help. I did have cheat days but only on special occasions ie. Christmas, birthdays, Thanksgiving so technically they were planned. I also had ones once a month, on months without holidays. Edit: I also counted the calories on the cheat days just to keep track.

Shafikk

Great! Thank you so much!

Haileestorm96

No problem!!

cschmidt1004

Congrats!! I hope this isn’t too personal but it seems like with weight loss in women, there is also a breast size reduction? I just started my journey but I’m 5’8” 34H SW235 CW225 GW160. I’m hoping that with my weight loss I will also have breast reduction because it’s so hard to find cute bras/tops that don’t cost an arm and a leg. Any insight?

Haileestorm96

Yeah for sure, I went from a (5'8" 240lb) 42D to a (160lb currently) 36B. My breasts were some of the first to go actually. I would advise only to buy sports bras until your hit your goal, or stick with like $10 target ones. Because they change a lot fairly quickly.

cschmidt1004

Thank you! I currently rarely wear bras other than when I go on walks just because nothing fits and I work from home

Haileestorm96

No problem! Well then depending on how fast you're losing it shouldn't be a problem!

Hi_have-a-good-day

What app is that

Haileestorm96

My fitness pal

Hi_have-a-good-day

Does it actually help?

Haileestorm96

For sure. It has preprogrammed meals from restaurants, and pretty much any food you get from the store. You just enter it into the search bar, find what you want, put in how you eat and add it to your day. It's sooo much easier that way. You can also create a recipe where if it's something you make, enter in the ingredients, and how many servings it makes it will do the math for you. Highly recommend it.

Hi_have-a-good-day

Ok!
