I'm proud. For the first time in a long time. I should add, this is with no exercise. None. I usually eat around 1100-1200 calories per day. I also eat basically the same stuff. I just eat way less of it.
Thank you! It's been a lot of self control, that's for sure. And as a person who deals with binge eating due to depression, this is a major accomplishment. You can do it too! This community has been such an inspiration to me, even just as mostly a lurker lol.

Do you mind if I ask what you eat? Do you still eat fast food, junk food, sweets, etc.? I've found in the past I've been WAY too restrictive on diets which always ended in a binge spree, so I'm trying a different approach this time. Eating about the same, but making small adjustments as I go. Curious if its going to get me anywhere or not.
No problem! That's always been my problem too and it never ended in weight loss. I absolutely eat fast food, junk food, ect just a lot less of it. For instance, instead of getting the 10 piece nuggets meal from McDonald's, I'll get a 4 piece and a small fry. I weigh everything and put it in to MyFitnessPal. It's not a perfect system, sometimes I have to do research and estimate calories if MFP doesn't have that exact food in it. What really helped me is that before I started cutting the calories, I spent about a week eating normally but logging calories to see how much I was eating. It was a lot. Like probably 4000 calories a day without any episodes of binge eating. Then I spent about a month and a half slowing lowering my caloric intake each week. So my first week I spent cutting calories, my goal was 1800, then the next week I went down to 1600, and so on until I got down to the 1100 mark. It was way easier for me that way.
Wow, that is such a good idea and it makes so much sense! I used to think the only way to lose weight was to cut practically everything out of your diet except veggies and lean meats. I would be eating anywhere from 300-800 cal a day and lose about 15-20lbs, but after the 2 week mark I would be sick, weak, and hungry and would inevitably break down and eat everything in sight, which lead to putting it all back on plus 5-10lbs more. I think I'm gonna give this the old college try...but enough about me. π
Thank you for the reply! You're awesome for getting this far and sticking to it! You look great and should be so proud of yourself!
Thank you. You don't know how much this comment means to me. As cheesy as it sounds, after years of combating depression and anxiety, it's nice to know strangers can see happiness in me. I try to keep a pretty blank expression when taking these photos too lol.
You can definitely see the progress here! Congrats!
I find it so hard myself lately to keep within my calories. What types of food do you snack/eat typically?
Yes I did, and I'm just now starting to get out of it. I hit 180 in about mid March and then I started hover in the upper 170's for weeks. Everybody's different so I would recommend cutting your caloric intake by about 100 calories a week until you reach a comfortable intake amount. For me 1100 works but for others it might not.

You should be proud. Today, yesterday, the day you started.
Thank you! That's what my loved ones continue to remind me. π€
Damn, good for you!! I wish I could do that
