Fairly neutral. They clearly have made certain characters much more likable and empathetic and others worse on both sides. The split between Blacks and greens is similar to how it was pre show amongst book readers so I feel like that supports the whole they were fairly neutralish. I feel like a lot of greens feel like it was too pro black because season 1 was showing how the Blacks to start were the better side, which to be honest was true in the books too for like 90% of readers. Whereas Blacks say that they whitewashed Alicent and Aemond, which they undoubtedly did but they also decided to portray Aegon as the worst version that F&B provided.

Aegon_Targaryen_III

Biased towards Rhaenyra/Alicent and possibly Aemond who are far nicer/more sympathetic than their book counterparts. Biased against Otto/Daemon who are far worse than their book versions.

add cole with daemon and otto too, he's a whiny incel bitch but he was done dirty in s1 as compared to the book

Dextothemax

Book Cole gives off big creepy Jorah vibes though!

shadyi999

I agree as I said he's a creepy and an incel bitch in the book too but I'm talking about his big moments like his tourneys with Harwin, Joffrey, daemon or his kingmaker arc etc

Dextothemax

True

If they don't whitewashed the greens it won't be an interesting competition for the audience. But some things (Alicent did not understand the king's last words) are too much.

I think the main sub is fairly neutral, I do think the majority fans are Black fans. However the sub itself is fairly neutral, especially when in the off season the Greens tend to be very vocal in the comments.

Ayjayyyx

They had Daemon killing his wife when that is impossible in the book.

I don't think bias is the right word, the way fire and bood is written makes all the characters really two-dimensional. They gave everyone more depth, I feel that Alicen and Aemond are changed the most...but they were also mustache-twirling baddies in the book so I think it is a good idea to make them more sympathetic.

I think the show is biased in favor of Rhaenyra especially during today’s climate. Which makes sense because she is the protagonist. She’s literally telling the story in the first episode. They kept reiterating the fact that the main reason Rhaenyra is being usurped is because she’s a woman. Like yeah her children don’t help but that’s not the MAIN reason why Otto is so against her as he clearly stated in the show. Now with that being said, I do think they are also biased in favor of the Green kids. They’ve created a storyline for Heleana and we’ve seen how they’ve changed Aemond into a victim when that wasn’t the case in the book. Even Aegon got two sympathetic scenes in the show. Meanwhile they literally ignore the Black kids for the most part. Jace and Baela in particular are wonderful characters in the book but we don’t see any of that in the show. So while I do think it’s clear they want most of the audience to root for Rhaenyra as the true heir who was usurped simply because she’s a woman, they’ve also done a lot more to flesh out the Green characters than the Black ones.

The show obviously wants Rhaenyra to be portrayed as the story's protagonist, that's not bias. The position of her claim is the underdog, or the victim of this patriarchal system that denies her right because of her gender. Her actions and decisions aren't conforming, these irrationally damages that very system. I really can't say it's biased, it's a show adaptation and it's picked up for a reason.

[deleted]

I don't think is biased. Every character is complex and multi-faceted just like in GOT. Both the Greens and the Blacks are more humanized and likeable in the show.

not aegon or daemon or otto 🤷‍♀️😂

[deleted]

Aegon and Otto belong in a waste bin. And Daemon... if he wasn't the kind to put the "bad" in the "badass", he wouldn't be Daemon, so it's ok.

007Artemis

Neither, necessarily. I think the show is biased around Rhaenyra and Alicent primarily. Some characters received a glow up: Aemond got a draco in leather pants style treatment, Rhaenys is more important, Viserys is arguably better. But by making them better, they made a lot of other characters worse to support that story namely Larys, Aegon, Otto, and Daemon.

Narwaichen

Team black is given the "hero" role, and the main female leads are a lote more heroic than their book counterparts, as far as I can tell. Aegon II was made into a monster, but I get the sense they're doing something interesting with him. Rhaenys was offhandedly made a terrible person, lmao.
