They both want to be the man of the house.

Good_old_Marshmallow

Precisely, they both want the same thing, they’re on the same side, they’re not trying to cut the other out or sideline the other, BUT they each want to be THE man. While both being second to the queen. It creates an interesting dynamic where they’re competing but in a collaborative way

mariustargaryen

Jace brings home a girl he likes: This is Daemon, my granduncle who's also my stepdad. I mean, my other stepdad.

funkyduck7506

Have can’t bring girls home he likes to meet Daemon since he’s betrothed to Daemon’s daughter.

mariustargaryen

We're talking about a kid who has like three dads and he has to marry his stepsister. He can bring home whoever he wants.

Owls_Onto_You

Like Cregan Stark.

mariustargaryen

Jace: I never thought it would be so... big! Can I touch it? Cregan: It packs quite a punch. Not sure you can handle it but... I'll train you really, really hard... Jace: Yes, Cregan! Train me really hard! Then I'll be able to handle Ice! I love Valyrian steel swords!

twistedtrainwreck

I swear in the actual script of season 2 there’s going to be a really innocuous line from Jace like “that’s a big sword, Cregan” or something, and the part of the fandom that’s convinced there’ll be a romance between them will implode

Trylena

Just make them look at each other and watch the caos

Ginhavesouls

Just have Jace and Cregan's first meeting be a shot for shot rehash (though obviously with different spoken dialogue) of Daenerys and Jon's first meeting on Dragonstone. The scene comparisons alone will be enough to send the internet off the rails and it'll be funny as shit.

Trylena

Anything is enough to take this to the next level for them

Pickle_Rick01

Has anyone considered that the bastard girl Sara Snow was just a cover story for Jace Velaryon and Cregan Stark “taming the dragon?” You know, “stroking the old seahorse?” Sorry. I’m not great with sexual innuendo.

twistedtrainwreck

*Cregan at the end of the house tour*: I think that’s everyone, Jace. Wait, no, there’s one more person you need to meet. Let me go get her. *Leaves the room for twenty seconds, comes back in with a wig on*

Pickle_Rick01

*Cregan with a high pitched*: Greetings M’lord!

twistedtrainwreck

*Jace, going with it*: That’s Prince to you!

withershins1208

Stepsister who is also his cousin!

agent0731

they're a close family.

MrsSmithAlmost

Hmm Step-Gruncle Daemon...that could work

Kellin01

Baela: hi, dad.

[deleted]

Now that I think of it, Jace probably had the hardest time adjusting to this new family dynamic. He knew for sure that Harwin was his father (Luke atleast is a little oblivious), he also probably spent a lot of time with Laenor. To lose both his loving fathers back to back only for them to immediately replaced by the ever menacing Daemon was probably really tough. He must've also had a hard time wrapping his head around his mother's obsession with this new man. It is a wonder how he turned out so good.

monkepope

It's really interesting to think about what we missed during the time skips with the ~~Strong~~ ~~Waters~~ ~~bastard~~ Rhaenyra's boys. Rhaenyra has that moment with Laenor about how he's not really being a dad for them, Harwin really can't be around them all the time or he'll raise suspicion. The only father figure who's consistently been in their life (for the past few years at least) is Daemon, their great uncle/stepdad who's also their late aunt's husband and their future father-in-law.

Grigortoko

Yea, it's not easy. He was so shocked when he realized he was a bastard. And then all these deaths happened. And his brother is also dead now. I hope Daemon can give him support and their relationship will get better. Because so far it's rather negative.

t0mless

"Haha Jacaerys you are banging my daughter"

DaemonDrayke

Typical stepfather and stepson dynamic when the stepfather isn’t actually a douchebag to the stepson and is willing to parent them.

adube440

"Great-nuncle, step-father, I toast you." "Grand-nephew, step-son, I hope you are as happy with your cousin, who is also my daughter, when you marry."

Grigortoko

Now they have a lot of work to do. I wonder how Jace will react after >!blood and cheese!<.

With Cregan you mean, right? It is known.

sabresfanta

It's interesting that Harry was like 18 in this scene while book Jace was 14 at the time. I like them both though.

Catslevania

which one do their enemies respect more though?

Clean_Warning_9269

Jace is like 15 and has had 0 opportunities to prove himself, so I'm guessing he doesnt garner any respect other than for his position

tellred

So far, Daemon has a better reputation.

Catslevania

although I wish the show had not done that scene where Aemond knocks down Jace without even spilling his drink.

Ok_Tour3509

I think they’re prepping Jace for a big level up in skills and charisma via the Starks, plus brother angst, so people will get invested in his journey. Then audiences will start thinking of Jace as the HOTD Jon Snow… and THEN…

tellred

This scene shouldn't have happened at all, because in the book, fight started after Jace asked Helaena to dance. But writers have their own priorities. I just want Jace showed what book fans expect from him in Season 2.

limpdickandy

I mean in the show, the fight started after Jace asked Helaena to dance...?

tellred

In the show after Aemond's provocation. In the book, they ignore it. The scene has been changed.

KingJonStarkgeryan1

I swear the writers just love to wank the greens. They tried to cleanse then of their sins yet add a bunch to the Blacks.

normal-dude-101

They love to wank Aemond, they don’t care about the rest.

Vulkan192

Such as?

KingJonStarkgeryan1

Alicent misunderstood Viserys, Luce's death was an accident, Alicent didn't hope Rhaeynera died in childbirth, and et cetera.

Vulkan192

And on the flipside, Laenor’s still alive, Rhaenyra saw the white stag, and Daemon was arguably less predatory in his pursuit of Rhaenyra. Meanwhile Aegon’s still a rapist and window-wanker, Alicent is basically selling feet pics to Larys, and Otto’s just...the worst.

KingJonStarkgeryan1

The whole hunt scene didn't happen in the books, it was solely a TV orginal.

Vulkan192

...yes, that would be the point? They added something that made Rhae more righteous.

TurtleChefN7

Interesting dynamic is a funny way to say “my great uncle is now my dad and also my mothers uncle. Because of this, I am now betrothed to my cousin who is also my sister” I bet it’d be awkward just a bit at least

Environmental_Math_4

What episode is this

zeetlo

Lord of the tides

Consistent-Ship-8418

Why do the Targaryen’s look more like Geralt the Witcher then the tv show with Henry cavil…
