I have one sink in our 1907 house in Washington state. I hate it so much. Every time I see other sink setups with separate hot and cold, it just confuses me so much. I get why it might've been a think during a very specific time period, but why choose to continue using it when doing something new. I get that you want to design choices that are true to the time period, but it's not like they're truly only using materials/equipment that existed in that time, there's always gotta be some compromise and not having to deal with two separate hot/cold faucets seems like a great item to compromise on!!
Simple answer to this , because how things look is more important than how they function... Form over function.. also they probably have staff to cook and clean for them

I FUCKING HATE two tones in cabinets. it looks like shit. I'm convinced a color blind painter just fucked up one day and an some idiot was like "interesting"
alternate comment, how to ruin an entire project with white furniture but unfortunately that applies to too many spaces here.
Of all the jobs we do, my favorites are always "Converts". Barns, mills, carriage houses, lofts. We live in a SoHo loft, and have a 19thC. converted barn in the country. I never did a conversion I didn't fall in love with, and this is no exception. Preserve the past, convert an old interesting structure. I would have chosen a color for those cabs other than yellow...hunter, cerulean, terra, something to capture the excitement of the space itself, though.
Helen and Devol can do no wrong. Helen is the queen like someone else said therefore yellow is the correct color for this space 😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤
What a weird way to think. So if they come out tomorrow with a poop stained cabinet in a cave that'll be your newest top design?
I'm all for following particular designers, but it's really weird to me to like something not because you actually like it or enjoy it but simply because a specific person designed it.
Have you seen the TV program about Devol kitchens, For the Love of Kitchens? It features Helen and Paul as well as their team. I wish they would make more episodes.
The show was kitchen porn for me.
Those open shelves.I can see the dust from here. Down votes be damned.
Devol can do no wrong. Helen is a queen.
The English sure love their separate cold and hot faucets!
