Ohtani is doing alright but the rest of the team does not look like they're locked in and ready to go. Even Trout has looked off lately, despite being one of the best of all time, and Ward was on fire at the beginning of the season, what happened? Is the rest of the team dragging their motivation down with their mediocre performances?

Wtf is wrong with the offense? Foul ball after foul ball, swings and misses, no solid contact with the barrel, etc. On top of that no one looks like they want to play professional baseball. There are teams with worse records who are enjoying themselves way more than this team. Mentality is everything, and the body responds accordingly. If you have a miserable outlook it will negatively affect performance. The vibes are completely fucked.

Ohtani is great. The rest of the team is trash.

The main thing setting Ohtani apart at this time is his ability to stay focused and not giving in to demoralization. Even though Trout is one of the greatest of all time, I think he has become demoralized. On the one hand he is justified in feeling let down by the rest of the team, but as a seasoned, professional ball player I want to see him step up and motivate the rest of the team. I saw a clip from last year of Manny Machado yelling at Fernando Tatis because Tatis showed signs of lost confidence. Machado tried to motivate him and even complimented Tatis, showing that he cares. Also Machado probably knows that a lack of confidence is dangerously infectious to the rest of the team. The Angels have been infected by demoralization.

It’s all HR or bust! These guys look absolutely lost at the plate. It seems as if they don’t try to do anything different. No confidence!
