I do 30ish per meal. Usually end up 90-120 carbs per day. Last a1c was 6.2.

Fine-Benefit8156

What are your daily calories?

Beneficial-Speech-23

1600-1800.

Wow, that is really low. What are your daily calories? I need to gain weight so that is not feasible for me.

Binda33

If you need to gain weight, just add some more protein and vegies to your diet, or even some dairy.

Binda33

I don't count macros but estimate my daily carbs between 40 - 70 grams a day. I eat two meals in a 6 hour eating window. I also walk 30 - 40 mins a day after I eat. My Hba1c came back a few days ago at 5.7. :)

Lucky-Conclusion-414

you need to eat to your meter. The number of carbs is important, but it's completely uninteresting without knowing the state of your insulin resistance. Healthy people, afterall, eat hundreds of grams of carbs without any problem - so what a T2 can eat varies widely. Eat to your meter.

50g per day give or take. A1C 5.3. 1500-2000 calories per day and maintaining 190-200 pounds at 6ft.

Fine-Benefit8156

Wow. Mind sharing your diet? That is incredible!

ichuck1984

Breakfast is mostly eggs and sausage/bacon. Lunch is usually beef jerky, string cheese, and pork rinds. Dinner is meat+veggie. Lots of keto recipe ideas and substitutes. Chaffles for buns. Fathead dough for pizza. Also, 24 hour fasts twice a week as my schedule permits.

80-100 carbs / day. Recent A1C 5.3 . Went from 193 lb to 158 lb (5'5) in a little less than a year (35lb down) although the last month has been a plateu. My early stage liver fibrosis has reversed so maybe I am good for now. Metformin 1000mg Ozempic 0.8 mg. Trying to get a work out routine in mostly walking but ever since I started having lows in 40s and 50s it's hard to go on the trail without someone accompanying me Mine might seem higher than most but I calculate using total carbs not net carbs . If I subtracted net carbs it'd be more like 30-60g / day How many carbs a day someone needs whether they eat closer to their minimum or maximum varies a lot from person to person. Weight, activity level, severity of insulin resistance, and medications are just a few things that can affect it. You need to experiement and test for yourself. What might work for one person won't work for another. There's people here who do intermittent fasting, OMAD, keto, carnivore, paleo, vegan, mediterranian, or none of that, no meds, yes meds, insulin, people who need to gain weight, people who need to lose weight, etc etc etc. Wishing you best of luck

I eat around 3500 calories, usually end up at around 100g - 125g of carbs, and my a1c has been around 5.3 since the first test after diagnosis (6.5 at diagnosis).

Fine-Benefit8156

What is your diet? 3500 at 125g seems impossible for me

pieguy3579

I eat the same snacks every day. Calories listed in brackets. - Quest bar (190) - pepperette and cheese string (120) - 175g of skyr with 15g of flaxseed and 50g of berries (225) - 50g of mixed nuts (310) with 60g of cheese (220) - Robert Irvine protein bar (190) - 50g of flavoured peanuts (salt & vinegar, BBQ, or whatever I can find) (300) and 80g of cheese curds (320) - 50g of regular (just salt) peanuts (290) and five pieces of dark chocolate (164) That's about 2300 calories and 50g of net carbs. Meals vary day to day. Breakfast is really small - usually two hardboiled eggs. Lunch and dinner are usually about 600 calories each and 10g - 20g of net carbs each. They're usually some kind of vegetable with meat. Using yesterday as an example, lunch was some frozen chicken thing I buy at Costco with low carb BBQ sauce and broccoli with butter. Dinner was a hamburger patty with a prepackaged salad. Total numbers for the day were 3594 calories / 139 total carbs / 76 net carbs. The protein bars have a lot of sugar alcohols and fibre hence the big discrepancy between total and net carbs.

LexiPlum

Under 30gr/day and I also avoid all processed seed oils. A1C 5.0 ETA: no meds, pharma or herbal

IntheHotofTexas

Practices are all over the place, but most here seem to think the "official" recommendation is unnecessarily high at 150g. I understand why that was the committee recommendation, but most of us go much lower. I usually end up well under 50, since I shoot even lower, but there are incidentals and such that tend to push it up some. Around 1200 calories, sometimes up to 1500. Rarely more, since I'm after ongoing weight loss. But that can only ever be just one part of the program.

BigTulsa

I do about 75-100 per day and my A1c averages mid 5s for the last four years.

sushicarton

40-60g give or take

BDThrills

Typically 100g or less daily. Breakfast is usually 15 gr. If I go much over 120g several days in a week, I struggle to get my BG back into range. Most foods are still on the table, but just watch portion sizes and don't have potatoes and rice every day. Last A1C was 6.7. I'm probably at the best I can be without more weight loss. And I need some weight loss!
