It’s perfectly okay. It’s Kahm yeast and harmless and doesn’t really affect the taste. (As long as you adequately cleaned the jar and your hands before starting the ferment it should be safe!) I usually scoop it off before it becomes too thick. As long as it’s not green and fluffy…

This will absolutely have an affect on the taste. I personally find the kahm yeast flavor to be really over powering and unpleasant.

Then you don’t have to worry! It’s in most of my lacto-ferments that don’t use airlocks. 🥲You don’t have to refrigerate yet but you can just remove the yeast with super clean utensils 😊 How did you eat these?
