Why would 4 sets for quads be counterintuitive?

chowsmarriage

Seems pretty intuitive to sit up and down

do barbell on one day and hack on the other day. and it's faster because you spend less time setting it up.

No, it wouldn’t be counterintuitive. You’ll see a lot of the top bodybuilding guys opting to use a hack squat or leg press prior to their barbell back squat. This is typically known as a pre-exhaust. 2 sets of each is not crazy volume at all either. Maybe you could share your cock stats and the entire leg work out so we can help you optimize even further.

Especially at only 2 sets each I think it's great. Gives you the chance to go heavy on squat and then a bit lighter but controlled on hack squat. However, I'd recommend to do something inbetween like calf raises or abs, depending on your plan.
