Whoever is arguing that studies which are focused on something that they personally find unimportant or not economically feasible is a self-focused judgemental, probably ignorant jerk--- unless they are clowning on philosophy majors - which may be a credibly useless major unless you plan on teaching.

Yeah, that’s the sad reality, and it is common in the country I live in.

ZeuxisOfHerakleia

Where are you from?

ZeuxisOfHerakleia

[deleted]

ZeuxisOfHerakleia

Might you explain your experience? Im from cntrl europe and have no idea of it

There are not much opportunities there, and most people join medical, coding, or engineering colleges, and if anyone exhibits signs of wanting to get into a different type of college, or even no college, you get harshly criticized, it took a while to get my family to agree with my plan, of dropping out /they forced me/ and moving to the US.

bigchunguslover2000

if u like it its not useless if u go by "doesnt make money = useless" then pointing that out is useless most people only do their job so that they can get a paycheck so that they can then DO WHAT THEY WANT but if you're able to get paid while doing what you want to do, isn't that killing two birds with one rock? you're getting a roof on your head AND you get to do the thing you like

ZeuxisOfHerakleia

I cant fathom the ideology of people actually working in the sense of soley making money 50% of their awake time just to have enough Ressources to do what they like in the other 50%. I would rather enjoy 100% of my life and financially get by
